NEW ALEXANDER CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Who We Are

New Alexander Christian Church is a local family of believers who desire to Love God with all our hearts, Love our neighbors as ourselves and make disciples of Jesus.

OUR MISSION

Make Disciples of Jesus and help one another live in love for God and one another.

Our Beliefs

In one God, infinite Spirit, Creator, and Sustainer of all things, who exists eternally in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence but distinct in person and function. (Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-28; Hebrews 11:3)

The Lord Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity. Eternally begotten from the Father, He is God. He was conceived by the virgin Mary through a miracle of the Holy Spirit. He lives forever as perfect God and perfect man, distinct but inseparably united as One. (John 1:1-4; Luke 1:26-38; John 10:25-30)

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, proceeding from the Father and the Son, and equal in deity. He is the giver of all life, active in the creating and ordering of the universe; He is the Agent of inspiration and the new birth and He indwells in and sanctifies all believers. (Genesis 1:2; John 6:63; Matthew 28:18-20)

The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, though written by men, was supernaturally inspired by God so that all its words are the written true revelation of God; it is therefore inerrant in the originals and authoritative in all matters of life and faith. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12-13; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

Adam, the first man, willfully disobeyed God, bringing sin and death into the world. Every person has inherited the sinful nature and eventually sins by breaking God’s law, as did Adam. (Genesis 3; Romans 3:19-23)

Jesus Christ offered Himself as a sacrifice by the appointment of the Father. He fulfilled the demands of God by His obedient life, died on the cross in full substitution and payment for the sins of all, was buried, and on the third day He arose physically from the dead according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven where He now intercedes for all believers. (Romans 3:21-26; 1 John 2:1-2; Romans 8:28-39; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Salvation from God’s wrath comes to all who place faith in Jesus Christ, confesses Jesus as Lord and Savior, repents of sin, and is baptized into the name of Jesus. Every person who accepts Jesus in this way is forgiven of sin, filled with the Holy Spirit, and begins a new life as a disciple of Jesus, a child of God. (John 3:16-17; Luke 9:26; Romans 10:9-10; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38-40; Acts 22:16; Galatians 3:27)

The church is a local assembly of Christians led by Jesus to serve one another and carry out His commands to love God, one another and make disciples of Jesus. (Matthew 22:34-40; 28:18-20)

The return of Christ imminent. Upon His return all who have lived will stand before the throne of God and be judged according to what is recorded in heaven. The lake of fire (Hell) awaits all whose name is not written in the Book of Life. Glory, honor and eternal life await all whose name is written in the Book of life. The saved will live forever in fellowship and worship of God on the new earth. (Matthew 26:64; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15)

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Psalm 139)

We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Gen. 2:18-25). We believe that marriage between one man and one woman, for life, uniquely reflects Christ’s relationship with His Church (Eph. 5:21-33). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, cohabitation, homosexual behavior, rejection of one’s biological sex or use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matt. 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10).

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 6:9-11).

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture.
